NBA Preseason DFS Strategy
In NBA Preseason DFS, much like the regular season, we are looking to capitalize on player news and minutes. Tidbits from NBA beat writers on twitter can help us find mega value plays that can increase the ceiling of our lineups. If you do not already have a twitter acccount I highly suggest that you make one and subscribe to my NBA Beat Writers list (you can find it “lists” under my profile).
Miami Heat @ Orlando Magic
The Heat are playing on the front end of a back to back set. We saw this scenario for them back on October 8th and 9th where the starters played in the mid-twenties for minutes in both games. Tyler Herro has been compared to Klay Thompson for his three-point shooting and ability to get red hot. On Monday, Herro put up twenty-three points, five rebounds, and two assists. He nailed five of seven attempts from beyond the arc in twenty-five minutes of play while burying nine of fourteen from the field.
Other notables: Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Nunn
The Magic have been off since Sunday and should be in line for some regular season minutes. Check out this tweet from the Magic’s beat writer John Denton.

Aaron Gordon is my favorite play from the Magic tonight. He was awful in their last game by going two of twelve from the field and misfired on all five three-point attempts. Look for him to bounce back tonight and put up a respectable stat line. So far this preseason the Heat have struggled against guards and I like using DJ Augustin for a value play if you need some salary relief in your NBA Preseason DFS lineups. Full disclosure, I don’t see myself attacking the Heat tonight as their defense has been very good this preseason.
Other notables: Nikola Vucevic, Jonathan Isaac, Mo Bamba
